London has been a flurry with hotel openings over the past two years. Hyde London City

Opening date: May 2024

Set within a historic building, 15 Old Bailey, Hyde City London has undergone a massive £34.3 million / 400,000,000 HKD transformation to see it return to its former glory as a hotel, as was Evans Cronk’s vision in 1874. A part of the Hyde Hotels, Resorts & Residences brand, which is part of Ennismore, a joint venture with Accor, the hotel has an enviable location as it directly overlooks St. Paul’s Cathedral. The 111-room hotel also features a modern Levantine restaurant, and for some fun, head down to the underground cocktail bar.

The Emory London

Opening date: Spring 2024

Brought to you by Maybourne Hotel Group — behind London’s stylish establishments, Claridge’s, The Connaught, and The Berkeley — The Emory is another lavish hotel added to its list. It’ll hold the status of London’s first all-suite hotel and is located in Old Barrack Yard, Belgravia. Mandarin Oriental Mayfair

Opening date: Spring 2024

Another spring opening is set to be the Mandarin Oriental in Mayfair, marking the brand’s second destination in the capital. Sitting on Hanover Square, Mayfair’s oldest square, the hotel is all about quiet luxury. Offering a discreet sanctuary, it’s conceptualised by architects Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners, with interiors by Tokyo-based studio Curiosity, and guest rooms and suites designed by UK-based Studio Indigo for a classic British look. The hotel offers 50 guest rooms and suites, along with 77 private residences. Excitingly, it features a restaurant by Korean Michelin-starred chef Akira Back. Of course, there’s also the ABar Lounge and a rooftop terrace that overlooks Mayfair. For some relaxation, the spa draws inspiration from renewal and recalibration, and as such, there’s a host of indulgent treatments by Seed to Skin, Swiss Perfection and Oto CBD.

Sircle London

Opening date: Spring 2024

Another hotel debut is Sircle London, and it’s situated on Devonshire Square in Liverpool Street, east London. Comprising an 81-room hotel, it’ll also be the first London site for The Cover — a members’ club concept complete with a botanical bar, library, and working space. For those who like to remain active, there is a gym and yoga studio, plus an outdoor botanical courtyard and famed Israeli chef Eyal Shani’s Seven North restaurant.

Art’otel Hoxton

Opening date: Spring 2024

Following its debut outpost at Battersea Power Station, Art’otel is heading east this spring, as it sets up home in Hoxton — a district known for its street art, buzzing bars, and creativity. Set to open its doors in April, it’ll don a playful aesthetic as per Art’otel’s USP, which is full of bold colours and artwork comprising original Banksys mixed with emerging artists, and exclusive exhibitions from the likes of D*Face in its dedicated art gallery. This will sit alongside the hotel’s destination restaurant and bar that offers 360-degree views of London’s skyline, and a rooftop gym and spa.

Six Senses London

Opening date: Late 2024

Six Senses is the home of serenity and wellbeing, and now the brand is opening its debut London outpost later in the year — making it one of the most eagerly awaited new hotels launching in 2024. Residing in the former art deco department store Whiteleys in Bayswater, the hotel will feature 110 guest rooms and suites and 14 branded residences, complete with bespoke interior design, concierge service, dining, housekeeping, and wellness programmes. There will also be an intimate lobby bar and lounge, an all-day dining restaurant with an open kitchen, and a seating area in the courtyard.

Of course, no Six Senses would be complete without a wellbeing area, and this one will offer a 3,500 sqft gym as well as a 65-foot (20-metre) indoor swimming pool. On the second floor, residents and members can access a new social and wellness club featuring a central bar and lounge, co-working spaces, a restaurant, and wellness and treatment rooms.

The Newman

Opening date: Late 2024

Named after its location, The Newman is located on Newman Street in Fitzrovia and wants its guests to enjoy, celebrate and connect with the local community. Here, the 81-room and suite hotel will sit alongside a European brasserie and cocktail bar. There will also be a dedicated, paired-back wellness floor with hot and cold experience cabins and Nordic-inspired treatments and therapies.

Park Hyatt London River Thames

Opening date: Late 2024

For river views, bookmark the upcoming Park Hyatt London River Thames. Set within a 42-storey building, expect 19 levels of Park Hyatt Hotel space and above, Park Hyatt branded apartments. Offering 203 rooms, the hotel is located at Nine Elms on the south bank of the river, an area that has undergone significant development over recent years, and has an international focus, being located close to the new US Embassy.

The look of this 5-star hotel is understated luxury, with a contemporary design that feels like a second home. Here, interior design is punctuated with world-renowned artwork by the likes of Charlie Whinney, and the hotel even houses a large ballroom, which is a rare feature for London.
