Airbnb Introduces New Icons Category Including Up House and Ferrari Museum

Airbnb has introduced “Icons,” a new series of exciting experiences “hosted by the world’s greatest icons across music, film, television, art, Sports, and more.”

Building off the success of its one-of-a-kind stays such as the Home Alone house in Chicago and Shrek’s Swamp in Scotland, Airbnb takes the learnings from over the years to build the new Icons category with new experiences debuting through the year.

On May 1, Airbnb introduced 11 new icons. Highlighted in the initial unveiling is the Up house, which is suspended in mid-air and complete with 8,000 balloons in the scenic red rocks of Abiquiu, New Mexico. Also from the Disney and Pixar universe is an overnight stay at the Headquarters of Inside Out in anticipation of the release of Inside Out 2 on June 14.

Other standout experiences include overnight stays at Ferrari Museum in Maranello, Italy, Marvel Animation’s X-Mansion in Westchester, New York, and Musée d’Orsay’s iconic clock room in Paris.

Music heads may enjoy the living room session with Doja Cat, a stay in Prince’s Purple Rain House, or an all-access pass to reggaeton superstar Feid’s upcoming world tour.

In the world of Entertainment, Airbnb offers an evening with Kevin Hart at the members-only Coramino Live Lounge, an overnight gaming experience with TikTok sensation Khaby Lame, and a stay in the family home of Bollywood star Janhvi Kapoor.

Most Icons are free with all priced under US$100 per guest. A countdown displays each time an Icon goes live and guests can request to book on the Airbnb app. A total of 4,000 digital golden tickets will be given in 2024.

Airbnb has simultaneously introduced several new features including an expanded earnings dashboard with interactive performance charts, new features for group Travel such as shared wishlists, a redesigned Messages tab, and more.
