It’s the season of reboots and sequels and after Mean Girls reboot, there’s yet another 90s Hollywood film that is coming back as a sequel this time. Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis (who recently returned in The Bear Season 3) are finally back together on set as Disney has teased a first behind-the-scenes look at the production of Freaky Friday 2.

Yes, after a long wait of two decades, the film is officially filming now with Lohan and Curtis back reprising their much-loved roles of Anna and Tess Coleman, respectively.

The 2003 film features Jamie Lee Curtis (The Bear) and Lindsay Lohan (Mean Girls) playing a mother and daughter duo whose bodies get swapped due to a Mysterious Chinese fortune cookie. Lohan portrays Anna Coleman, a teenage girl grieving her father’s loss and aspiring to be a musician. Lee Curtis plays Tess, Anna’s mother, who is ready to remarry after her husband’s passing.

When they accidentally switch bodies, their relationship takes a rather hilarious turn. Through this experience, they realise that life can be challenging at any age.

An exact release date for Freaky Friday 2 hasn’t been announced yet but it will open in movie theaters in 2025. The same is true for the trailer, fans can only expect it in a couple of months, considering the film has just gone on the floors.
