Eagles beat Cowboys 34-6
Eagles beat Cowboys 34-6: Game SuMMAry
Throughout the game (and even before it began), I don't think there was any illusion that the Cowboys had a shot at beating the Eagles. Rivalries don't mean much if your starting QB is out and you have one of the worst rushing offenses in the league. But for a while there in the first half, it looked like Dallas' defense might at least keep it a close game. Alas, that changed as soon as Philly scored that last touchdown to end the half.
With QB Cooper Rush filling in, some may have thought he'd repeat what he'd done once before when he took the Cowboys to 4-1 in 2020. But this time, the offense around him was much weaker. He finished with just 13 of 23 completions for 45 yards. Amongst Dallas' five turnovers were two fumbles from Rush. He was eventually replaced by Trey Lance, who finished with four of six completions for 21 yards and one interception. Like their last home game against the Lions, no one scored a touchdown. Only kicker Brandon Aubrey was able to put points on the board with two field goals.
As for the Eagles, QB Jalen Hurts didn't play at his best either. He completed 14 of 20 passes for 202 yards, two passing touchdowns (to TE Dallas Goedert annd WR Johnny Wilson), one interception, and five sacks. He added seven carries for 56 yards and two rushing touchdowns. He was finally replaced by Kenny Pickett in the fourth quarter when they had a comfortable 31-6 lead.
With their fifth consecutive win, the Eagles have now improved to 7-2 on the season and the Cowboys fall to 3-6. Because the Washington Commanders lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers, their record became 7-3, putting the Eagles in the No. 1 spot in the East, the Commanders in second, the Cowboys in third, and the Giants in last place after another loss to the Carolina Panthers.
The Eagles will play another divisional rival next week when they host the Commanders on Thursday night as they try to maintain the top spot in the NFC East.
The Cowboys will have one more shot to get their first home win of the season when they play the Houston Texans next Monday night.
Cowboys
Cowboys set historic NFL record they'd rather not have: What record did they set after loss to Eagles?
The Cowboys suffered their fourth home loss this season to their rivals Eagles and in doing so, set an NFL record they'd prefer not to have set.

Lance throws interception to C. J. Gardner-Johnson
Trey Lance made a lot of mistakes...he was sacked by Brandon Graham, he fumbled the ball and it was recovered by the Eagles, he threw this interception to C. J. Gardner-Johnson, and then he was sacked again by Milton Williams.
Here's that sack/fumble from Rush
After putting Lance in for 2 plays and then putting Rush back in, Bryce Huff forced a fumble and Zack Baun recovered it to give the Eagles the ball back yet again.
That's right.
Trey Lance IN!
The Cowboys hilariously put Trey Lance in at QB at the end of the 3rd quarter only to take him out after 2 plays and put Cooper Rush back in.
Hurts TD 2/2
Hurts got his second rushing TD of the day in the 3rd quarter, making it a 28-6 score.
Johnny Wilson TD!
In the second half, it was all Eagles. WR Johnny Wilson started the scoring spree for Philly with this 5-yard TD.
Goedert TD!
Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert is one player Philly is happy to have back as he scored a TD before the end of the first half, extending their lead to 14-6 before halftime.
Parsons is BACK!
Like I said, the Cowboys must be happy to have Parsons back! He forced a fumble on his second sack on Hurts and Marist Liafau recovered it. Dallas ended up with another Aubrey FG for it, bringing the score to 7-6.
Cowboys' red zone turnover
The Cowboys gave the ball to Elliott at 1st and goal and this happened...
Back-to-back sacks on Hurts: 2/2
And then by Cowboys CB Micah Parsons, who Dallas is no doubt happy to have back from injury.
Back-to-back sacks on Hurts: 1/2
Hurts was sacked twice in a row again in the second quarter, first by Overshown again...
Diggs INTERCEPTION
At the start of the second quarter, just as it looked like the Eagles would extend the lead with another TD, Hurts threw an interception caught by Cowboys CB Trevon Diggs. It was Hurts' first interception in five games.
Hurts---Brown
Just near the end of the 1st quarter, Jalen Hurts extends this play and connects with A.J. Brown for a huge gain of 30 yards.
Aubrey: the Cowboys' saving grace
Of course, Aubrey had a field goal in the first quarter.
Hurts TD!
The Eagles scored first with Tush Push TD by Jalen Hurts
Cooper Rush fumbles
In the first quarter, on a bobbled snap, Cowboys backup QB Cooper Rush fumbled the ball and the Eagles recovered it.
Hurts sacked back-to-back
In the first quarter, QB Jalen Hurts was sacked twice in a row, by Demarvion Overshown and then a split-sack with Carl Lawson Osa Odighizuwa.

GAME TIME!
It's game time here in Arlington, Texas!
The Eagles won the toss and elected to defer. Cowboys start us off on offense.
Let's go!
NFC East race
For those of you not tuning into the early games, the Washington Commanders just lost 28-27 to the Pittsburgh Steelers. That brings their record to 7-3.
If the Eagles beat the Cowboys today, they'll be 7-2.
The Cowboys' home woes
Last year, the Cowboys had road woes. This year, it's the opposite. In the 2023 season, Dallas went undefeated at home in the regular season, 9-0. In fact, they'd won every home game since Week 1 of the 2022 season, making a total of 16 straight home wins.
That streak was ruined in the 2023 postseason when they lost to the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card round in embarrassing fashion at AT&T Stadium.
Since then, they have lost every home game so far this season, 3-0. Two of those losses were blowouts - to the Saints and Lions, 44-19 and 47-9, respectively.
Some key matchups to watch for in today's game
Cowboys vs Eagles: Injury Report
Cowboys' Week 10 Injury Report
Obviously, the big news is that QB Dak Prescott is out and Cooper Rush is in. Wide receiver CeeDee Lamb also suffered a shoulder injury in last week's game, but was able to push through and play in the end. He was taken off the injury report after being limited in practice this week and will play against the Eagles. Last season's interception/pick-six leader, cornerback DaRon Bland, who had foot surgery at the start of the season, will miss his ninth straight game against the Eagles. His 21-day practice window opened a month ago, but he's still not been able to return.
The Cowboys acquired wide receiver Jonathan Mingo in a trade with the Carolina Panthers, giving away a fourth-round pick for him. Added to the squad just five days ago, Mingo will not play against the Eagles.
Good news for the Cowboys is that All-Pro edge rusher Micah Parsons will return for the first time since Week 4, when he suffered a high-ankle sprain.
Cowboys Inactives:
QB Dak Prescott
CB DaRon Bland
S Juanyeh Thomas
RB Deuce Vaughn
DE K.J. Henry
OT Tyler Guyton
WR Jonathan Mingo
Eagles' Week 10 Injury Report
Unlike the Cowboys, the Eagles are mostly healthy. As I mentioned before, the team was being cautious with QB Jalen Hurts in practice, but he will suit up against the Cowboys. Wide receiver A.J. Brown left last week's game with a knee injury, but is good to go for today's game, and tight end Dallas Goedert will be making his return today after dealing with a hamstring injury.
Safety Tristin McCollum will miss his second game in a row along with cornerback Eli Ricks and guards Trevor Keegan and Darian Kinnard.
Eagles Inactives:
G Trevor Keegan
G/T Darian Kinnard
S Tristin McCollum
QB Tanner McKee (emergency 3rd QB)
CB Eli Ricks
Eagles dominating all sides of the ball
With a quarterback like Jalen Hurts and the addition of running back Saquon Barkley, the Eagles offense has improved this season. The "Tush Push" strategy is still working well for them despite the loss of center Jason Kelce. Hurts has the second-most rushing TDs in the league with eight. Barkley has already surpassed the 1,000-yard mark in scrimmage yards, one of just three NFL players to have done so this season.
But it's not only their offense putting in the work. Their defense is third in the league in yards allowed (290.3 per game) and are allowing less than 20 points per game (19.4).
Hurts good to go vs Cowboys
As for the Eagles, quarterback Jalen Hurts will start vs the Cowboys. This week, there was some confusion about his status as he missed some time at practice, and it wasn't clear whether that was for rest of injury.
His designation was "rest", but head coach Nick Sirianni said Hurts is also "dealing with the ankle" and that they were being cautious.
ESPN's Tim McManus said this: “Hurts has been dealing with a mild ankle issue for a couple weeks. A separate league source described it as 'lower leg soreness' and that his limited practice Wednesday was for load management purposes...The source added that Hurts was held back from dropping and planting during the individual periods but did throw the football later Wednesday during team walkthrough”
Later, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero confirmed that Hurts would indeed be suiting up against the Cowboys, along with wide receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith and tight end Dallas Goedert.

Who is Cooper Rush, the Cowboys starting QB against the Eagles on week 10? Career stats, salary, contract...
On that note, it's Cooper Rush who will be filling in for Prescott. It's not a first for Rush, who took over in the 2020 season when Prescott went down with an ankle injury. Here's how he's fared and what you need to know about the Cowboys' QB2.
Cowboys
Why isn’t Dak Prescott playing for the Cowboys against the Eagles? QB injury status
As I mentioned, Prescott left the Cowboys' Week 9 Game with a hamstring injury. The Cowboys are hesitating to put him on IR, but there's a chance he may need surgery, which would automatically end his season. And even without it, he's likely out between six and eight weeks.

Cowboys and Eagles - where they stand
Eagles positioned for playoffs
The Eagles are on a hot streak heading into this game. They're on a four-game winning streak and are at 6-2 on the season. They're currently second place in the NFC East just behind the 7-2 Washington Commanders. They are coming off of a 28-23 win last week over the Jacksonville Jaguars that saw quarterback Jalen Hurts throw for two touchdowns and run for one more.
Between Hurts and running back Saquon Barkley, the Eagles have been thriving in the run game, leading the league with nearly five yards per carry.
Cowboys desperate to save season
The Cowboys couldn't look more different in comparison. Sitting at 3-5 on the season, they are on a three-game losing streak and have yet to win one in their home territory. They're currently third place in the NFC East with just the 2-8 New York Giants behind them. Last week, they lost 27-21 to the Atlanta Falcons and in that game, lost quarterback Dak Prescott to a hamstring injury that potentially ended his season, and best case scenario will keep him out six to eight weeks.
Hope was already fading even before that news, with Dallas' run game ranked 30th in the league in yardage, but ranking 31st in rushing touchdowns allowed.
