Draftkings FedEx St. Jude Championship First Round Picks 8/15/24

This Thursday, Draftkings Golf fans will be presented with the first round of the 2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship. Let’s take a look at the first round of this event from a DFS perspective.

Before I discuss my Draftkings player selections, let’s review where the first round of the 2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship will be played.

The first round of the 2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship will be played at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee. The golf course is a par 70 that measures approximately 7,243 yards.

*The 2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship will have a limited field of only 70 Golfers. This event does not have a traditional cut after two rounds like the vast majority of tournaments on the PGA Tour. All 70 Golfers will comPete in all four rounds of the event. Keep that in mind as you construct DFS lineups for this week’s PGA Tour DFS slate.

I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact DFS lineup.

Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a DraftKings GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!

Here are my DraftKings player selections for the first round of the 2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship.

2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship Draftkings First Round Picks

Corey Conners $9,100

Corey Conners has accumulated five top 25 finishes in his last six events played on the PGA Tour, including a tenth-place result at the 2024 Genesis Scottish Open last month. In addition to his recent outstanding play on the PGA Tour, Corey Conners finished ninth at the 2024 Paris Olympic Golf event last week.

Conners certainly checks the box for me when it comes to key player statistics. In relation to this week’s 2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship field, in the last 36 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Corey Conners ranks fifth in birdie or better percentage, fourth in strokes gained approach, seventh in GIR (greens in regulation), and seventh strokes gained tee to green. Clearly, Corey Conners is playing at a high level entering this week’s event.

Corey Conners has also played well at TPC Southwind in the past. Conners finished sixth at the 2023 FedEx St. Jude Championship.

Sungjae Im $8,800

The talented South Korean arrives at this week’s first FedEx Cup playoff event in rather good form. Let me be more specific. Since the beginning of May, Sungjae Im has played ten tournaments on the PGA Tour. In those ten events just mentioned, Im accumulated seven top 12 finishes, including a third-place result at the 2024 Travelers Championship in June.

Additionally, Im finished seventh at the 2023 FedEx St. Jude Championship.

Sam Burns $8,000

Sam Burns has accumulated four top 15 finishes in his last six events played on the PGA Tour, including a 12th place result at the 2024 3M Open three weeks ago.

In relation to this week’s 2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship field, in the last eight rounds played on the PGA Tour, Sam Burns ranks first in birdie or better percentage, 16th in strokes gained around the green, 15th in strokes gained on par fives, and second in total Draftkings points scored.
