Construction Work Gets Underway at Celtic Park Ahead of Glasgow Derby Away Fans Return
Celtic Park is currently a hive of construction activity as preparations are underway to enhance safety measures before the new football season returns along with away fans at the derbies.
With the Glasgow Derby scheduled for August 31, significant changes are being implemented at the stadium.
In response to the plan to host 2,500 away fans this season at both Celtic Park and Ibrox, Celtic have initiated building work to accommodate this iNFLux safely. The changes are based on an application for planning permission submitted to Glasgow City Council back in February. This included proposals for new security gates and fencing, modifications to existing fences, and the creation of new gates and access steps.
Celtic are clearly getting on with their work without a fuss, but less can be said for Rangers. We wrote a few weeks ago that Celtic should be seeking assurance from Rangers, ahead of the first derby match at Celtic Park, that they would be able to fulfil their safety promises.
