Celtic are now into their off-season after claiming Scottish Cup glory last weekend; however, plenty of Brendan Rodgers’ men still have work to do over the summer.

For some, the chance to experience the prestige of playing at EURO 2024 will trump the excitement of relaxing on holiday.

Callum McGregor, Greg Taylor, Anthony Ralston, and James Forrest have been called into Scotland’s provisional squad for the championships by Steve Clarke.

Matt O’Riley will hope to be on the plane with Denmark. On the same token, Alistair Johnston is expected to be involved with Canada at Copa America; however, neither nation has announced its provisional roster.

The international break is soon in full swing if you haven’t guessed already. Granted, some Celtic fans will already be dying for the new season to commence; nevertheless, there is set to be representation from the Bhoys worldwide in the coming weeks.

Adam Idah’s fine form at Celtic gains more recognition

Earlier this afternoon, Republic of Ireland interim manager John O’Shea announced his 26-man squad for their upcoming double-header against Hungary and Portugal.

Unsurprisingly, Adam Idah has earned another international call-up for his nation, which will have been aided in no uncertain terms by his nine goals and two assists in 19 appearances since joining Celtic [Transfermarkt].

Liam Scales and Mikey Johnston have also been selected, rewarding their fine form at club level, with the latter being on loan at West Bromwich Albion in the second half of the campaign.

The Boys in Green take on Hungary at the Aviva Stadium on June 4th before Travelling to face Portugal exactly a week later, with both matches selected for live coverage on Premier Sports 1.

Many Celtic supporters have a vested interest in the Republic of Ireland side, and if anything, there will be a chance to watch some of the Bhoys in action during the off-season.
