Can Scott McLaughlin catch up to Colton Herta in the IndyCar?
The 2024 IndyCar season has been a thrilling battle between some of the best drivers in the world. Among them are Scott McLaughlin and Colton Herta, both vying for the championship title. At the moment Colton Herta lead the comPetition.
For McLaughLin it has been a hard year. His disqualification from the St. Petersburg race cost him to be last. Fortunately for the New Zealand Native he was able to bounce back and get 54 points from the Barber MotorSports Park.
But, can Scott McLaughlin still catch up to Colton Herta?
The IndyCar championship awards points based on finishing positions in each race. McLaughlin needs consistent top finishes to close the gap. However, Herta’s form and the performance has been superlative at the moment. The American is 42 points ahead of McLaughlin at the moment. The completion still has another 14 races to, with the Indy500 still on the table.
While catching up to Herta is an uphill battle, McLaughlin remains a strong comPetitor. Fans will be eagerly watching the remaining races to see how the championship unfolds. Whether McLaughlin can close the gap and challenge Herta for the title remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: IndyCar racing never fails to deliver excitement
