I decided to record what I saw because I came across the strange bird. When I got closer, I raised my hand, and it opened its mouth in response,” she said. Stating that she had visited the farm five times before failing to find such a creature, the woman said that neighbours heard a distinctive voice.

This creature, also known as the ‘ghost bird’, hunts on the wing, and drinks by day, is camouflaged by its bark-like feathers and can sleep safely in trees. These birds, which usually settle on broken tree branches or wooden posts, are not a nuisance. They hide their eggs in the hole they dug in the rotten bark. Potoo birds, which are very difficult to notice, feed on flies and insects. Fossils of these creatures, which are about 38 centimeters long, have been found in Germay and France.
