3 Frontrunners Emerge For Kyle Kuzma Trade With Wizards

Kyle Kuzma is coming off a reasonably decent season with the Washington Wizards. From a personal stats standpoint, at least.

Obviously the Wizards were one of the league’s worst teams, but Kuzma averaged 22.2 points on 46.3 percent shooting from the field, along with 6.6 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game.

According to Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports, Washington will look to move Kuzma this offseason.

That said, Fischer warned that the Wizards “asking price for the veteran scorer prior to February’s trade deadline was too rich for most rival teams,” and that may be the case again this time around.

If Kuzma does get moved, three frontrunners for his services appear to have emerged.

The first is the Los Angeles Lakers. Kuzma obviously has a ton of history with L.A. and won the only championship of his career while wearing purple and gold. A reunion would be welcome on both sides. It is just a matter of making the assets work.

If not Los Angeles, the San Antonio Spurs could make a ton of sense as well. They desperately need some scoring power alongside Victor Wembanyama to free up the paint and let the big man work a bit. Kuzma could provide that.

Finally, don’t sleep on the Miami Heat. Erik Spoelstra and Co. missed out on some big stars last summer. This time around there aren’t as big many notable names available. That said, Kuzma could still plug a hole for the team scoring-wise – especially if Jimmy Butler gets traded in the way multiple Heat insiders have suggested that he will.

Where will Kuzma be playing next season when the 2024-25 campaign ultimately tips off? Time will tell.
