It’s safe to say we’re not in Paris anymore. The French Open might as well have been over before it started on the women’s singles side, as Iga Swiatek was favored over the field right from the start and proved to be an easy 3-star best bet winner for me at -165 odds. At Wimbledon, it’s a much different story. Swiatek is nowhere near as dominant on grass as she is on clay; in fact, she isn’t very good on the green stuff at all. That means the title is up for grabs, with Aryna Sabalenka, Coco Gauff and Ons Jabeur among the contenders. Let’s take a look at the Wimbledon 2024 odds and our Wimbledon women’s singles best bets to be made.

Wimbledon tennis best bet: Aryna Sabalenka (+333)

Grass is an absolutely ideal surface for Sabalenka, as she wields 1 of the 2 biggest serves on the WTA Tour (along with 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina) as well as a monster forehand. Both her forehand and backhand are very flat, too, which make them most effective on grass. It’s no surprise that Sabalenka has reached the semifinals at each of the last 2 Wimbledon editions. I fully expect the world #3 to reach her first final at the All-England Club and ultimately take the title. She is no stranger to Grand Slam success, having won the Australian Open in both 2023 and 2024. Sabalenka also played well on clay – her least favorite surface – this spring, finishing runner-up to Swiatek in Stuttgart and Rome before advancing to the quarters at Roland Garros. It’s also worth noting that the Belarusian has a favorable draw at Wimbledon on the opposite half from Swiatek and Rybakina.

Wimbledon tennis prediction: Ons Jabeur (+1400)

Jabeur has finished runner-up at the All-England Club in each of the past 2 summers. She lost to Rybakina in 2022 and – with an especially huge opportunity – to Marketa Vondrousova in 2023. Having also reached the quarterfinals 3 years ago, Jabeur is an impressive 16-3 in her last 19 Wimbledon matches. What will the Tunisian do for an encore? She hasn’t been at her best throughout this 2024 campaign, but it’s not all bad news. Jabeur heated up with a quarterfinal run at the French Open (lost to Gauff) and her draw in London is not a bad one. She would not face Swiatek until the semifinals and Sabalenka until the final. Don’t be surprised if Jabeur’s long-awaited first Grand Slam title is on the immediate horizon.

Wimbledon tennis longshot pick: Danielle Collins (+5000)

If Collins stays true to her word, she has 2 Grand Slam appearances left in her career (she announced in January that she will retire at the end of this season). The U.S. Open undoubtedly gives the American her best opportunity to win a major, but she is playing so well this season that she cannot be discounted at any location. Collins won the Miami Open in March, followed that up with a back-to-back triumph on the clay courts of Charleston and made a run to the semifinals in Rome. Although the 30-year-old has never done much at Wimbledon, her flat, powerful groundstrokes should work quite well on grass. Collins’ draw isn’t easy on paper with Swiatek potentially in the quarters and Rybakina in the semis, but the Pole is very beatable on grass and the Kazakh has been dealing with all kinds of physical problems in 2024. At long odds, the red-hot Collins has enticing value.
