The second round of fixtures in the 2024 Leagues Cup continued on Wednesday with a further six matches. The Liga MX teams showed improvement after an underwhelming start, Juárez and Mazatlán picking up vital wins to keep their chances alive.

Juárez beat in-form FC Dallas 2-0, securing a place in the knockout round and eliminating the MLS side. Elsewhere Mazatlán beat Nashville by the same score to set up a fascinating Group I finale this weekend.

Ahead of Thursday’s Leagues Cup fixtures, the seven teams who have progressed from their groups are LAFC, Austin FC, LA Galaxy, Juarez, St Louis City, DC United and Philadelphia Union. The two seeded teams, Columbus Crew and Club América, are also guaranteed their place in the Round of 32.

What is the 2024 Leagues Cup bracket?

Since the overhaul in 2023, Leagues Cup now features all 47 teams in MLS and Liga MX. Domestic competition is put on hold for a month for the pan-continental tournament.

Leagues Cup begins with a 45-team group stage, with entrants divided into 15 groups of three teams. The top two in each group will progress to the Round of 32 phase, along with Club América and Columbus Crew. Here’s a look at the bracket for the 2024 Leagues Cup...

The second round of group stage fixtures continues on Wednesday and Thursday, with the final games to be played over the weekend. Once the group stage has concluded the Round of 32, the first knockout round, will begin on August 9. Columbus Crew and Club América will be among the first teams to play.

Austin FC have made a remarkable start to the 2024 comPetition, securing top spot in their group with wins over Pumas UNAM and Monterrey. Normally goal-shy Austin scored five goals across those two Games and beat Pumas despite playing with ten men for nearly an hour.

“These performances have been trending this way for me the last four or five weeks,” Austin head coach Josh Wolff explained after the victory over Monterrey. “And now I think you’ve, again, over the last four or five Games, you’ve kind of seen that build, and we beat the very best of Mexico.”
