Where Do We Buy Kid’s Clothes In Poughkeepsie Now?
Where are we supposed to buy adorable kids' clothing in Poughkeepsie now that many of the children's specialty stores have closed up, or are planning to close in the very near future?
I know, I know, there are still options, but it just feels like all of the stores that us parents have relied on, the ones we were lucky to have an abundance of over the years, and all in and around the same area, are gone.
I had a two-year-old when the Poughkeepsie Babies R' Us closed, and admittedly, freaked out a little because it was just easy to go in there and get absolutely everything I needed.
Now, some local parents are a bit upset about another closure, this time, a popular spot for children's clothing and accessories.

Carter's Poughkeepsie Galleria To Shutter
A post in the 'Bad Mom's Hudson Valley' Facebook group started the comment train, with one local mom simply stating:
Carters in the Poughkeepsie Galleria is closing. All items are currently 50% off
More than 100 comments later, many took to Facebook to ask questions about current inventory, closing date, and plenty of 'nooooooo' and the like.
It seems like April 12th is said to be the anticipated closing date, which leaves shoppers just a few weeks to get their fill of discounted baby, toddler, and kids attire, before we lose the remaining child-specific clothing store in the Poughkeepsie Galleria.
Back in late 2022, The Children's Place in the Poughkeepsie Galleria permanently closed its doors using a similar strategy, signage announcing their closure, discounting all inventory, and encouraging shoppers to utilize their online store for all of their shopping needs.
As of March 14th, much of the store is listed at 50% off, while certain items have less of a discount. Their online shop is also showing similar sales.
While the Poughkeepsie location remains on the location directory of all Carter's stores, once closed, Middletown, Spring Valley and Mohegan Lake will be our closest locations.
