The Scottish Premiership post-split fixtures have generated considerable excitement, particularly among Celtic fans eager to clinch the title in a dramatic fashion by defeating rivals Rangers in the derby on May 11th at Parkhead.

However, while mathematically possible, the scenario requires a perfect alignment of results.

Currently, Celtic holds a four-point lead over Rangers, with the latter having a Game in hand that could reduce the gap. This Game in hand will be played against Dundee on Wednesday night. For Celtic to have a chance to secure the title in the derby, they would need to be at least seven points clear of Rangers, considering there would be only two Games left post-derby.

This means Rangers would need to lose at least one of their upcoming matches against Dundee, St Mirren, or Kilmarnock, and Celtic would need to win all their matches leading up to the derby.

The scheduling puts Rangers on the road against Dundee and St Mirren, and at home against Kilmarnock before heading to Parkhead. On the other hand, Celtic will Travel to Dundee and host Hearts during this period.

If Rangers do collect maximum points up until Celtic Park, and are defeated in the Derby, Celtic will have to wait until their trip to Kilmarnock to wrap up the title.
