Brendan Rodgers’ Rallying Call as Celtic Head into the Split
As the Scottish Premiership heads into its decisive final stretch, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has sent a rallying call to his squad.
With a tight three-point lead over second-placed Rangers, the stakes couldn’t be higher for the Hoops.
Rodgers has reiterated his message that Celtic is a team that thrives under pressure after he previously said that this time of the season is when the team comes alive.
In a conversation on Celtic TV on Wednesday, Rodgers reinforced his philosophy of not just aiming to win but to do so impressively and dominantly.
“That is the expectation. We are not here on holiday,” Rodgers said.
“We are here to win and we are here to win in the best possible fashion that we possibly can. That has always been my mantra. We are not just here to win, we are here to win in the best way possible.
“I think we sense that and we feel that as a club and that’s the excitement around it. Everything is in our hands to achieve what we want to achieve, and that is what we are focussing on.”
It all starts with a trip to Dundee this weekend. The hosts held Rangers to a 0-0 draw in their last match, which helped Celtic extend their lead at the top of the table.
They’ve earned the top 6 this season through some great performances and results, and it’ll be a tough match for Celtic on Sunday at 3pm.
