Kaos starring Jeff Goldblum has become of 2024’s most-loved shows and if you have already binged on Season 1, here are other shows like Kaos may fill the mythology-shaped hole in your heart.
Dark humour, a banging soundtrack, and Jeff Goldblum—Kaos is Greek mythology like you’ve never seen it before. The verdict is still out on whether the show will get a second season, so while we wait, these shows like Kaos may alleviate that longing for another mythology-rich show that’s binge-worthy. Read on to discover our list of shows that you’ll want to add to your watchlist if you loved Netflix’s Kaos.
Shows like Kaos you’ll want to binge if you loved the Netflix show
Percy Jackson and the Olympians
It’s definitely tamer than Kaos and a much less risqué take on the Greek gods. Though when you think about it, all those kids in Camp Half-Blood are their kids so maybe it’s just the right amount of risqué. This series based on the popular young adult series by Rick Riordan is still a whole lot of fun, and though the original film starring Logan Lerman holds a special place in many fans’ hearts, Walker Scobell is definitely a great Percy.

Good Omens
Nei Gaiman has a knack for writing what could be considered modern mythology, so don’t be surprised if his works appear more than once on this list. Good Omens doesn’t take on Greek mythology but the exaggerated beliefs about the Apocalypse and the Anti-Christ. A demon and an angel who have grown fond of humankind realise that the wheels to begin the Apocalypse are in motion, and in an alliance that has never happened before, both of them team up to try and keep it from happening.

The Sandman
Yet another Gaiman story, The Sandman doesn’t take inspiration from one specific cultural mythology but uses various aspects of many mythologies. The story follows the titular character also known as Dream, one of the cosmic beings known as The Endless. After being captured, he breaks free and seeks revenge against those who imprisoned him. He must also rebuild his kingdom but he realises that for that to happen, he must learn to not be so set in his ways.

American Gods
The final Gaiman story on this list is one where he pits the so-called “New Gods” against the “Old Gods”. An ex-convict fresh out of prison and having gone through a tragic ordeal is hired by a Mysterious Mr. Wednesday to be his bodyguard. He eventually discovers that Mr. Wednesday is gathering the Old Gods, deities from various faiths who have been forgotten by their followers, and preparing to wage war against the New Gods like pop culture, the internet, and Technology. It’s another riveting story with great cultural commentary in the form of modern mythology like only Neil Gaiman can write.
