Adam Idah has claimed the SPFL’s Goal of the Month award for September, thanks to his clinical finish in the Hoops’ 6-0 demolition of St Johnstone.

The goal, which came after Idah was introduced from the bench, capped off a spell of breathtaking Football from the Scottish champions.

The strike was a perfect example of Celtic’s fluid, attacking style. In the lead-up to the goal, Luke McCowan produced a clever dink over the St Johnstone defence, and Alex Valle showcased his flair with a brilliant backheel to set up Idah. The Irishman made no mistake, calmly slotting the ball past the goalkeeper to round off a superb team move.

The goal stood out as a moment of liquid Football from Celtic, a real team effort that had fans and pundits praising the style and execution. It was a goal that encapsulated the Hoops’ dominance that day and fully deserving of the recognition as September’s best.

Adam Idah arrived for a record-breaking fee this summer, a fee that Arne Engels eclipsed in the same window, after he set high expectations during his loan spell with the club last season.

He started to find the back of the net in recent weeks, and will be looking to continue doing so that he can force his way into the starting eleven.
