The former Disney Channel star and the Major League Baseball player began dating in late 2020 after meeting “on a Zoom mediation group,” Vanessa told Entertainment Tonight in April 2021.

Two months prior, Cole publicly confirmed their romance to a group of reporters during an MLB spring training session.

“I got a girlfriend and she’s cool,” he said at the time. “She’s awesome. I love her.”

The two made their romance Instagram official in February 2021, as Vanessa shared a photo of them together on Valentine’s Day.

The pair shared many more pics with their Instagram followers throughout 2021. The Tick, Tick … Boom actress even celebrated their anniversary in an Instagram post after one year of dating.

“One year down @cotuck,” Vanessa wrote in December 2021, before adding, “love you.”

That month, the former Pittsburgh Pirates shortstop shared an adorable birthday tribute for his lady, writing, “You light up my world.”

By January 2023, fans wondered whether the duo were still an item after Vanessa seemingly shaded Austin’s Elvis accent he apparently obtained by starring in the 2022 film. An Instagram user reposted a tweet about Austin, which read, “He went to the Lady Gaga school of Oscar campaign acting.” 

The statement caught Vanessa’s attention, as she commented, “Crying.” 

Nevertheless, the Tick, Tick … Boom star confirmed she and Cole were still going strong by sharing a sweet Instagram photo just days after her social media comment. 

“I’ll stop the world and melt with you @cotuck,” she captioned her post of them embracing.

Although the lovebirds typically shared their sweet moments together with their fans, they noticeably didn’t include each other in many posts throughout May 2022.

In July 2022, however, it appeared that things were still going strong between Vanessa and Cole as she celebrated his birthday with a romantic Instagram post.

“Who’s a big birthday boy?! @cotuck is [heart eye emoji]I hope you don’t mind that I put down in words … how about wonderful life is now [you’re] in the world,” the songstress captioned a series of sweet photos. “DAMNIT Happy birthday baby.”

Cole, for his part, wrote commented, writing, “I lava youuuuuuu. thank you baby.”

While the two were seen commenting on each other’s posts in early September 2022, Vanessa shared quite a few cryptic quotes via her Instagram Stories later that month. 

“How you are treated is more important than how much you like someone. Read it again,” one message read, whereas another read, “I don’t know who needs to hear this, but change is good for the soul. I know it can be scary, but honestly, isn’t it even scarier to reject the growth and stay the same forever?” 

That being said, it seems as if the pair had busy schedules because Vanessa and Cole shared pictures together in October 2022.
