Best Masters player prop bet: Hideki Matsuyama Top Asian (+140)

Hideki Matsuyama broke new ground when he became the first Japanese player to win a Major at the 2021 Masters and there seems plenty to be positive about as he heads back to Augusta this week. The 32-year-old has an excellent record in Georgia with 8 top-20 finishes in his last 9 efforts, and his recent results on the PGA Tour suggest another strong challenge is likely.

Matsuyama won the Genesis Invitational in February and has since been 12th at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and 6th at the Players Championship — all among the biggest tournaments the Tour has to offer. Seventh at the Texas Open last week was a good warm-up and he looks a solid favorite in the Top Asian market. South Korea’s Si Woo Kim has been getting his fair share of top-20s this year, but his Masters record is far from spectacular, while the talented pair of Sungjae Im and Tom Kim are not in great form.

Best Masters player prop bet: Adrian Meronk Top Continental European (+1600)

Defending champion Jon Rahm is favorite in the top continental European section, but it could be a demanding week for the Spaniard and there is some value down the list, particularly as 2nd-favorite Ludvig Aberg is making his course debut and Viktor Hovland’s form has tailed off a bit. Sergio Garcia, runner-up at LIV Miami, has missed 4 of 5 Masters cuts since his triumph, so Poland’s Adrian Meronk is an interesting prospect after making a successful move from the DP World Tour to LIV.

Meronk missed the cut on his debut last year when double bogeys on 2 par-fives proved to be his undoing, but he will have learned a lot from that experience and he looks a good bet at solid +1600 odds.
