Travis Kelce says heart hand celebration during Chiefs - Bills wasn’t for Taylor Swift: who was it for?

The incident-packed nature of Sunday’s NFL playoffs game between the Buffalo Bills clash against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday means it is sure to live long in the memory. From Taylor Swift being booed by home fans, to Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce stripping off in the stands, to Patrick Mahomes ducking snowballs after his team’s victory, it was the postseason clash that had it all.

That included two touchdowns for Travis Kelce, who of course had brother Jason and girlfriend Swift cheering him on at Highmark Stadium. At one stage, it seemed as if the elder Kelce may upstage his younger sibling with his off-field antics (he was also filmed downing a shot from a bowling ball shot at a Bills tailgate before kick off), but the Chiefs tight end was one of the stars as he led his team to a 27-24 win and into the AFC Championship Game, where they will face the Baltimore Ravens.

Following a first-half touchdown, Kelce copied the heart hand gesture Swift often does during her gigs, but told Jason on the latest episode of The New Heights podcast the celebration wasn’t intended to be a show of affection for the “Shake IT Off” singer. Or at least not only for her.

“Yeah, man, had to spread the love, baby! You always gotta spread that love, baby. There was a lot of hate pulling up to that stadium, man. The Bills, coming into their house, they want to make it rowdy. Did it get a little disrespectful? One thousand percent. Did it get a little extra? One thousand percent.”

Kelce was seen making the gesture towards the home fans rather than the suite where his entourage was seated (some of the time, at least).

Swift and Mahomes felt the brunt of that “rowdiness,” unlike Jason, whose shirtless antics went down a storm, other than with his own wife.

“I’m not going to lie, I gave (wife) Kylie a heads up. The moment we got into the suite, I said ‘I’m taking my shirt off and I’m jumping out of that suite.’ She said, ‘Jason, don’t you dare.’ She was already telling me to be on my best behaviour ‘cause we were meeting Taylor. I was like ‘Kylie, the first day I met you, I was blacked out drunk and feel asleep at the bar. This is part of the Jason Kelce charm.”
