1:20 pm ET Thistledown (Race 2) – Nambiti 13/8 (2-star play)

This gelding has registered two victories since joining the Andrew Tumblin stable with the most recent of those seeing him draw four lengths clear of his rivals in a similar race to this held on a sloppy track in June. The six-year-old registered a four-and-a-half-length fourth over the same track and trip in a $16,000 contest on his only subsequent start and he looks capable of defying a wide draw to deliver the seventh victory of his career.

1:50 pm ET Thistledown (Race 3) – Gold Honey 11/10 (2-star play)

The son of Goldencents has shown ability in both starts to date, including when nine-and-a-quarter-lengths third in a five-furlong maiden special weight contest at this venue in June. The selection switched to Belterra Park for his second start, finishing sixteen-and-a-quarter-lengths third in a minor stakes contest over half-a-furlong further last month. The return to maiden company is a positive and he looks capable of helping trainer Nestor Rivera improves on his 20% strike rate (20/100) at this track.

2:50 pm ET Thistledown (Race 5) – Fact Not Fiction 6/5 (2-star play)

Trainer Timothy E. Hamm boasts an impressive 21% strike rate (16/77) with a further 31 on-the-board finishes to his name. The handler’s representative here has placed on both previous starts, including when attempting to make all prior to finishing two-and-a-half-lengths second in a five-and-a-half-furlong maiden special weight contest here last month. The son of Yoshida faded late on that day having raced from the front and he is expected to prove hard to beat under Rocco Brown.
