These are all of the nicknames for AT&T Stadium: Do you know all of them?

When Jerry Jones’ massive stadium opened up in Arlington, Texas in 2009 to host the Dallas Cowboys Games, it was an architectural wonder with unique, state-of-the-art Technology and design. At that point in time, the naming rights hadn’t been sold and so Jerry Jones officially named it Cowboys Stadium. Over time, however, the stadium found itself with just a few other nicknames.

The many nicknames of Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium

In July of 2013, Jerry Jones announced that the Cowboys had agreed to grant naming rights to AT&T, and so it became AT&T Stadium. By that point, however, the nicknames are what stuck, and many people are still calling it by its nicknames today. Here are a few of the nicknames that AT&T Stadium has earned over the years.

And here’s a fun fact: In 2026, when the stadium hosts nine matches in the FIFA World Cup, it will be temporarily renamed to “Dallas Stadium”. That’s just to comply with the FIFA rules, which prohibit having corporate sponsors attached to World Cup venues.

At one point in 2009, when Sports announcer Bob Costas referred to the stadium as “The Palace in Dallas”, it upset the Arlington mayor at that time, Robert Cluck, since the stadium is actually in Arlington, not Dallas. But the current Arlington mayor, Jim Ross, is apparently fine with the “Dallas Stadium” name it will carry during the World Cup. “That’s a FIFA decision and Dallas is the biggest city here in North Texas area, I get it,” he said.
