The quirky ‘logo colors’ theory that predicts Super Bowl LVIII
The NFL Post Season Wild Card round is out of the way and that means we’re left with JUST EIGHT TEAMS who can lift Super Bowl LVIII. And of course the fans, experts, pundits and soothsayers are desperately trying to predict who is going to make it to the biggest Game of the year, on February 11 at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
Here are the teams in the Divisional Round.
National Conference Divisional Round
- Green Bay Packers vs. San Francisco 49ers (8.15 pm ET, Saturday, Jan 20)
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Detroit Lions (3pm ET, Sunday, Jan 21)
American Conference Divisional Round
- Houston Texans vs. Baltimore Ravens (4.30pm ET, Saturday, Jan 20)
- Kansas City Chiefs vs. Buffalo Bills (6.30pm ET, Sunday, Jan 21)
Favorites to win the Super Bowl 2024
Of course for many the favorites to lift the coveted Vince Lombardi trophy are simply the two teams that finished as the first seeds in each Conference:
The Baltimore Ravens, who advanced directly to the Divisional Round in the American Conference, and the San Francisco 49ers in the National Conference.
A fascinating theory to predict who will reach the Super Bowl
But, who cares about performance on the field? Surely that must be a more inventive, possibly even whacky, way to predict who’ll be at the big game in Las Vegas. And of course there is - plus, you don’t even need to borrow a friend’s tortoise to see which yellow pepper they prefer. Because fans have noticed that the colors of the Super Bowl logo design seem to have started predicting which teams are going to be in the big game, simply by being similar to the colors of those teams’ logos.
So, at Super Bowl LVI, the logo colors were orange and yellow, matching the Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Rams.
While at Super Bowl LVII, the designers went with red and green, CLEARLY referring to the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs Chiefs.
Prediction for the teams in Super Bowl LVIII
For this year the Super Bowl LVIII logo is red and purple. Now, the only team in the race with a logo featuring the color purple is the Baltimore Ravens (from the American Conference), so, according to this theory, they might as well book their tickets to Las Vegas right now.
Meanwhile, from the National Conference there are two teams with the color red in the Divisional Round: the San Francisco 49ers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Provided this theory is correct this year’s Super Bowl will be either
Baltimore Ravens vs. San Francisco 49ers
OR
Baltimore Ravens vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Prediction: Baltimore Ravens to win the 2024 Super Bowl
But why stop at just the colours on the Super Bowl logo? We spotted that the position of the colors in fact predicts the WINNER of the Super Bowl.
On February 14, 2022 the Bengals were beaten 20-23 by the Rams, and you’ll notice the Rams’ yellow was in the lower position on the Super Bowl logo that year. And, would you believe it, on February 13, 2023, the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Philadelphia Eagles, 38-35, and the Chiefs’ red was in the lower position on the logo.
So, with purple being the lower color on this year’s Super Bowl logo, it looks like the Baltimore Ravens could be going all the way to claim their third Super Bowl. Hey, it’s surely as good a method as letting cute Animals pick...
