The longest scoring streaks in Premier League history

The Premier League has been graced by some of the world's most devastating forwards since its inception, boasting some incredible attacking teams over the years.

As a result, it's often been difficult for Premier League defences to shut out the division's sharpshooters, leading to some impressive goalscoring streaks.

The club with the longest run managed goals in over half a century of consecutive matches, a record that will be difficult for any team to topple.

6. Manchester City (December 2018 - October 2019)

Unsurprisingly, Pep Guardiola's Manchester City side have managed one of the most impressive scoring streaks, finding the back of the net in 29 matches consecutively in the Premier League.

A run that began following a 2-0 defeat to Chelsea in December 2018 and included a 15-Game winning streak, Man City claimed the Premier League title during their impressive goalscoring period. In said 29 Games, the Cityzens amassed 77 goals, including an 8-0 demolition of Watford and a 6-0 thrashing of Chelsea at the Etihad.

However, the run finally came to an end in early October, Guardiola's men losing 2-0 at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers. A late brace from Adama Traore condemned Man City to their second defeat of the season after just eight matches, with Liverpool eventually stealing their Premier League crown during the 2019/20 campaign.

5. Tottenham (March 2023 - Present)

Tottenham are still enjoying their merry run of 29 matches with a goal, only needing to score in their next game to overtake Man City and move to fifth outright in the all-time rankings.

It's a streak that has amazingly taken place under four separate managers. It began under Antonio Conte in March 2023 with a 3-1 win over Nottingham Forest, with Cristian Stellini, Ryan Mason and now Ange Postecoglou maintaining it.

It's not necessarily been a glistening run - Spurs have lost nine of the 29 matches - but the likes of Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Dejan Kulusevski have made sure that at least the goals haven't stopped in north London.

How long Postecoglou's free-scoring Lilywhites can continue their impressive record remains to be seen.

4. Brighton (March 2023 - December 2023)

Unfortunately for Brighton, 32 matches of scoring in a row came to an end in mid-December 2023 when the Seagulls fell to a 2-0 defeat against Arsenal at the Emirates.

It was a game in which the south coast side offered very little going forward, something that has been a rare occurrence under the vibrant Roberto De Zerbi.

Brighton's stellar Premier League run began with a 4-0 trouncing of West Ham in March 2023 and included victories over Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal and Newcastle United.

3. Manchester United (December 2007 - November 2008)

The 2007/08 season ended with a Champions League and Premier League double for Man Utd, but it also marked the beginning of a remarkable run. The Red Devils netted in 36 matches in a row, the streak eventually coming to an end part way through the following campaign.

Starting with a Cristiano Ronaldo brace against Fulham in December 2007, the run finally came to a halt just under a year later, Alex Ferguson's side enduring a goalless draw against Aston Villa.

While a disappointing result, the clash with Villa marked the second of a division record 14 consecutive Premier League clean sheets.

2. Liverpool (March 2019 - February 2020)

Liverpool matched bitter rivals Man Utd's run of 36 matches, starting with a 4-2 win over Burnley at Anfield in March 2019. Despite only losing one game in the entire season, the Reds were unable to usurp Man City at the top of the table, albeit they did manage to win the Champions League come June.

However, their streak of goalscoring ran into the 2019/20 season, Jurgen Klopp's side eventually ending the club's long wait for a league title.

The prolific trio of Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah ensured that goals were seldom an issue, although their blank in a 3-0 defeat to Watford in late February 2020 did end their streak.

1. Arsenal (May 2001 - December 2002)

It's fair to say that Arsenal's run of 55 matches is unlikely to be beaten any time soon. The Gunners achieved the sensational feat at the beginning of the 21st century, a streak that spanned a year-and-a-half.

Despite starting with a 3-2 defeat away at Southampton on the final day of the 2000/01 season, it would continue over the entirety of the 2001/02 campaign, only finishing in December 2002 with a 2-0 defeat to rivals Man Utd.

Over their 55-game streak, Arsene Wenger's side managed 117 goals, winning the Premier League and FA Cup double in May 2002.
