The Minnesota Twins and the Los Angeles Angels meet Sunday in MLB action from Angel Stadium. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this Game. Here’s a Minnesota Twins vs LA Angels prediction.

Starting Pitching Matchup

The Minnesota Twins will send Pablo Lopez to the mound here and Lopez is 1-2 with a 4.39 ERA and 29 strikeouts this season. In his career, Lopez is 1-1 with a 3.75 ERA and 16 strikeouts against the Angels. Los Angeles will send Reid Detmers to the mound here and Detmers is 3-1 with a 2.12 ERA and 34 strikeouts this season. In his career, Detmers is 0-1 with a 5.52 ERA and 23 strikeouts against Minnesota.

Minnesota Twins Recap

The Minnesota Twins will look to push for a 7th straight win and another sweep after sweeping the White Sox to start the week and picking up a 16-5 beatdown win over the Angels on Saturday. The Twins scored in 7 of 9 innings, including each of the first four innings plating three runs in each of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th innings.

Twins Red Hot This Week

Going into Saturday’s opener, Byron Buxton and Ryan Jeffers each have a team-high 20 hits with Jeffers logging 4 home runs and a team-high 14 RBIs with a .274 batting average while Buxton has 7 doubles and 11 RBIs. Edouard Julien leads the Twins with 7 home runs while Willi Castro has 1 team-high 31 strikeouts as well as 6 doubles this season. Alex Kirilloff also has 19 hits with 5 doubles and 3 triples as well this season.

Los Angeles Angels Recap

The Los Angeles Angels come into this one looking for answers and to salvage something after another frustrating offensive showing, or lack thereof, as the Halos scored 2 runs in the 2nd and 2 in the 3rd, but were behind the 8-ball early and often, staring down the barrel of another series loss after losing to the Orioles, Reds and Rays in the last two weeks.

Angels Looking For A Lift Somewhere

Entering Saturday’s action, Taylor Ward leads the Angels with 28 hits along with 7 home runs and a team-high 23 RBIs. Mike Trout has a team-high 10 home runs along with a pair of triples and 5 stolen bases while Zach Neto has a team-high 28 strikeouts and 4 stolen bases. Luis Rengifo also has a team-high 7 stolen bases as well.

Minnesota Twins vs LA Angels prediction

I’m on the Twins here. I thought Saturday’s matchup was their best shot at a win and they go ahead and repay me by giving up 16 runs and at the best of times, the Angels’ offense isn’t good enough to battle holding teams to 5 or less. Lopez has pitched better on the road since joining the Twins last season, and the Twins are heating up offensively, especially against lefties, which doesn’t bode well for Reid Detmers who was hit hard for the first time in his last start. I also don’t trust the Angels’ bullpen, so I’ll roll with the Twins here.
