The Florida Gators and the Texas Longhorns meet Saturday in college Football action from Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. Here’s a Texas vs Florida prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Texas vs Florida pick.

Florida Gators Betting Preview

The Gators’ year started off on a 1-2 run with losses to Miami and Texas A&M sandwiched around a win over Samford. The Gators beat Mississippi State, UCF and Kentucky with a loss to Tennessee in a 3-1 stretch over the next four Games.

In the Georgia matchup last weekend, the Gators held a 13-6 edge by halftime. Florida was outscored 28-7 the rest of the way however and lost 34-20. QB Aidan Warner finished with 66 yards and a pick. Ja’Kobi Jackson led the rush with 12 carries for 74 yards and a score.

Texas Longhorns Betting Preview

Over on the Texas side, they hit a nice 6-0 run out of the gate with wins over Colorado State, Michigan, UTSA, LA-Monroe, Mississippi State and Oklahoma. The Longhorns took their first loss to a tough Georgia team 30-15, then beat Vanderbilt the next weekend.

In the October 26 matchup with Vanderbilt, the Longhorns scored points in every quarter—and gave up points in every quarter—on the way to a tight win 27-24. QB Quinn Ewers escaped with 288 yards, three TDs and two picks. DeAndre Moore caught six balls for 97 yards and two scores.

Texas vs Florida Prediction

I might try Florida here. The Gators produced a valiant effort in the first half against a great Georgia team over the weekend but ultimately fell short. Florida put up 228 yards (113 passing) and a couple of turnovers in the defeat, going just 3-of-16 on third downs. It was a crash back down to earth after scoring 48 points versus Kentucky.

As for Texas, they’ve had some extra time to rest and prep after a too-close-for-comfort win over Vanderbilt. The Longhorns were outscored 14-6 in the second half of that matchup and posted 10 penalties for 107 yards. Texas should be able to clean things up and look better here, but I think the Gators can get in for a cover if all goes well.
