Sheffield United team news
Unlike City's boss, Paul Heckingbottom will be striding along the touchline on Sunday afternoon. However, Sheffield United's manager is missing a glut of players through injury.
Rhian Brewster (thigh) and John Fleck (leg fracture), survivors from the club's last stab at the Premier League two years ago, are long-term absentees. Ismail Coulibaly and Rhys Norrington-Davies aren't expected back from respective knee and hamstring complaints until mid-September.
Defender Jayden Bogle sat out the entirety of pre-season with a knee issue that has stymied his start to the new campaign. Fellow wing-back George Baldock (calf), striker Oli McBurnie (foot) and Max Lowe (ankle) are inching towards full fitness.
Summer arrival Anis Slimane could return from a "slight" hamstring problem and the club's biggest signing of the off-season, Gustavo Hamer, is expected to make his home debut on Sunday.

Man City team news
Aside from the glaring absence of Guardiola's windmilling arms from the technical area, City will continue to be without two key pillars from last season's treble triumph.
Kevin De Bruyne is highly unlikely to appear again this calendar year after undergoing hamstring surgery. City's leading playmaker is joined in the treatment room by John Stones who should be available after the September international break.
However, Bernardo Silva is expected to be involved this weekend after recovering from illness and penning a new contract extension.

Sheffield United vs Man City score prediction
Michael Brown, the former Manchester City youth team graduate, was the last Sheffield United player to score a league goal against the Sky Blues when the two clubs shared the second tier of English football more than two decades ago.
City have never lost a Premier League match against the Blades who become blunt in their presence - a record which is highly unlikely to change this weekend even if the reigning champions don't have their manager's feverish instructions ringing in their ears.
Prediction: Sheffield United 0-2 Man City
