Rob Marciano’s former co-workers defend his ‘professional,’ ‘positive’ behavior after sudden ABC firing
Rob Marciano’s former co-workers defended his “professional” and “positive” behavior after the meteorologist was fired from ABC News earlier this week.
“Rob is always positive, hands on and never anything but professional. People enjoy working with him and he’s not difficult to work with,” a source told People.
“The Rob Marciano being portrayed is not the Rob Marciano we know,” the insider added. “Rob has always been nothing but professional. He is truly invested in his segments, cares a tremendous amount about his final work product.”
A female editor told the outlet Marciano, 55, “was always such a nice guy and I loved when he stopped by my edit room to check on his weather packages,” while a third source, who worked at CNN for a decade, told People Marciano was a person who “listened” and “helped.”
A fourth coworker who previously worked with Marciano told the magazine he was the “nicest, most professional and respectful person I’ve ever worked with.”
“He was hard-working and kind to everyone. So many people in news can be cut-throat, or creepy, or generally unpleasant, but Rob is not one of them,” she added.
“He’s the definition of a standup guy.”
On Tuesday, sources exclusively told The Post the “Good Morning America” meteorologist had been terminated due to behavioral misconduct after nearly 10 years at the network.
Insiders told the Daily Beast Marciano got into a “heated screaming match” with a “GMA” producer and that was the “last straw” before his firing.
In addition to his anger management issues, the outlet reported the journalist made female staffers uncomfortable when he would “overshare” information about his divorce from wife Eryn Marciano.
Page Six exclusively reported last March that Rob had been banned from Times Square’s “GMA” studio.
“He was found to have done something … that was improper, but he was punished for it, and they still haven’t let him return,” a source claimed at the time.
Another insider alleged Rob “made people feel uncomfortable” amid his divorce, adding, “There was a period where there were some issues, a number of alarming events.”
Eryn secretly filed for divorce from Rob on June 18, 2021. The exes share two kids.
Rob became a senior meteorologist at ABC News in July 2014. He previously worked for “Entertainment Tonight” and CNN.
