My analysis

The New York Rangers are rolling this season thanks to their goaltending and scoring depth. While much of the focus has been on the offensive depth with guys like Vincent Trocheck and Alexis Lafreniere playing well, former Norris Trophy winner Adam Fox is playing at a point-per-game pace as well.

Fox has 69 points (15 goals, 54 assists) in 68 games this season for the Blueshirts. He’s been fairly consistent as well, especially as of late.

The top-pair defenseman has an assist in four of his last five games and 11 of his last 13 contests as well. He’s put up 17 points (13 assists) in that span while helping the Rangers towards the Presidents’ Trophy.

Fox averages well over 20 minutes per night -- 23:26 to be exact -- while quarterbacking the top power-play unit. He’s also found success against the New York Islanders this season. He recorded an assist against the Islanders in their last meeting on March 17th and had two helpers back in February.

The New York Rangers have taken it to the New York Islanders this season with a 6-5 overtime win on Long Island back in February and a 5-2 victory last month. That’s not too surprising given the Rangers’ 13-3-0 record in their last 16 games. 

The Islanders may be riding a four-game winning streak, but the only playoff team in that span was the Predators -- and a 4-3 overtime win against a Flyers team that is still in the hunt. Before that, they had a 2-7-1 stretch in their previous 10 games.
