Qantas slammed after man's luggage worth $4000 is ‘completely destroyed’

However, when he landed he made the devastating and costly find.
In a viral TikTok, Huddle questioned the behaviour of Melbourne baggage handlers.
“So this is what you get when you Travel from Melbourne on Qantas these days,” he said in the video.
In the clip, Huddle reveals three of his expensive surfboards each been snapped at the noses.
“(There’s) something not quite right with the baggage handlers down there,” the 45-year-old added.
Huddle claims he’s been left significantly out of pocket.
“These are a thousand dollar surfboards all completely destroyed,” he said in the video.
But Huddle says there’s a clue that he thinks reveals exactly what happened to his luggage.
“I looked at the bag, there’s the telltale sign there,” he said.
Filming his surfboard bag, Huddle reveals several white scuff marks across the bag.
“A vehicle has obviously run over the board bag,” he suggested.
“Because there’s no other way that kind of damage could have happened.”
He added he has been in touch with the airline, but said he wasn’t given much reassurance.
“Of course their solution is for me to fill out an online form and wait 21 days,” he said.
Hundreds of people flocked to the comments of Huddle’s video, with many offering their sympathies.
“I would be absolutely ropable,” one person wrote.
In a statement to 7NEWS.com.au, Qantas said it’s “been in touch with the customer and apologised for his experience,” and is investigating the incident.
“We are urgently reviewing CCTV and working with our ground handling contractors to find out what has happened,” a spokesperson for the airline said.
It comes just days after two baggage handlers were fired after a viral TikTok captured them slamming down luggage while laughing.
Qantas and its baggage handler contractor for Melbourne Airport, Swissport, launched an urgent investigation after a social media video emerged of the workers’ “disrespectful” actions.
A Swissport spokesperson confirmed that the handlers in question had been fired after a review into the incident.
“An urgent investigation was undertaken into the recent behaviour of two team members at Melbourne Airport who were handling customer luggage in an unacceptable manner,“ they said in a statement.
“As a result of that investigation, Swissport has terminated the employment of these individuals.”
