The Atlanta Braves and the Philadelphia Phillies meet Saturday in MLB action from Citizens Bank Park. Here’s a Philadelphia Phillies vs Atlanta Braves prediction. This will be the third installment in a four-Game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Phillies vs Braves pick.

The Braves played the Minnesota Twins in their last series. Atlanta took wins in all three of those matchups, then fell to the Phillies 5-4 Thursday. On Friday the Braves powered out the win 7-2. Starter Reynaldo Lopez finished with 6.0 innings and one earned run.

In the starter slot for Saturday, the Braves will send out Max Fried. This year Fried is 8-7 with a 3.50 ERA in 23 starts. In his career, Fried is 70-33 with a 3.10 ERA in 162 Games (145 starts).

Zack Wheeler will start for the Phillies on Saturday. So far Wheeler is 12-6 with a 2.74 ERA in 26 starts. Wheeler is 99-69 with a 3.37 ERA in 253 starts over his career.

Philadelphia Phillies vs Atlanta Braves Prediction

I’ll lean toward the Braves. Should be a good starter matchup, though. Fried is 1-1 in his last three starts with a combined six earned runs on 17.1 innings of work. As for Wheeler, he’s done pretty well also with five earned over 18.0 innings in his last three starts, going 1-1 in that time.

On Friday the Braves were up 7-1 at one point and pretty much dominated the Game with a couple of big offensive performances. The pitching was solid as well; it was a well-rounded effort. I like Atlanta to keep rolling in Game three.
