Paul “Pauly D” Delvecchio admitted to having a “relationship problem” with girlfriend Nikki Hall on Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. However, it turned out to just be a small disagreement that the two were able to get past.

“She said something and I just can’t get it out of my head,” Pauly, 44, told Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino and Vinny Guadagnino during a video call. “She said all pasta tastes the same.”

The footage flashed back to a previous scene of Nikki, 32, and Pauly in the kitchen. When he asked her what her favorite type of pasta was, she replied, “You know they’re all the same, right?” As a proud Italian, Pauly was flabbergasted by Nikki’s take.

“Dealbreaker,” Mike, 42, admitted, while Vinny, 36, joked, “I’m sorry you’re going through this, bro.” The guys suggested that Pauly take Nikki out to dinner so she could sample various types of pasta.

“We’ve been together a long time and there’s something on my mind,” Pauly told his longtime love when they arrived at their favorite Italian restaurant. She immediately grew concerned and told him, “You’re being weird.”

Pauly continued, “It’s weighing heavy on my heart. You said something to me and I can’t get it out of my head. It goes against my faith and everything I believe in.” Nikki had no clue where Pauly was headed, so he finally added, “You said all pasta tastes the same.”

Nikki clarified that she meant “the ingredients [and] how you make pasta” is all the same, adding, “Pasta is typically flour, eggs, olive oil and salt. It’s the same.” To prove his point, Pauly ordered five different kinds of pasta in the same sauce.

“Tastes like eggs and flour,” Nikki noted when she tried the rigatoni. After her bite of angel hair, Pauly said, “Tell me that’s not different!” She jokingly replied, “It tastes a little bit less like eggs and flour.”

The DJ felt he won the battle, though, when Nikki said she “didn’t like” the fettuccine. “Would that even be possible if they all taste the same?” he pointed out. “Boom. I told ya. I knew it. I’m so glad I don’t have to break up with Nikki right now.” Regardless, Nikki still said, “I still only taste four ingredients,” by the end of the meal.

Nikki and Pauly met on Double Shot at Love but didn’t get together after season 1. Instead, she returned for season 2, which is when they decided to give their relationship a shot. In 2020, they moved in together amid the COVID-19 pandemic and have been going strong ever since.

Although Nikki recently took a break from filming Jersey Shore during season 6 and the first half of season 7, she returned for season 7, part 2, in September and has appeared sporadically during the last several episodes.

“Me and Nikki, we’re great,” Pauly recently gushed. “We’ve been together over four years now. It’s the longest relationship I’ve ever had. I’m not an easy person to date because I’m never really home.”
