P Diddy’s trial date set to clash with most important day in Hollywood calendar.cau
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ trial is set to begin on the same day as the Met Gala, a star-studded event he has attended many times in the past – but was reportedly banned from in 2024 amid the investigation into his alleged sex trafficking crimes
P Diddy’s trial is set to begin on the biggest day in Hollywood.
The rapper, who was arrested on September 16 and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation for prostitution – allegations he “categorically denies” – will be swapping the Met Gala’s red carpet for a prison cell. The first Monday of May coincides with the start of the Vogue event at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. The theme for 2025 is Superfine: Tailoring Black style and according to Vogue, the Costume Institute show will “take the Black dandy as its subject”.
The annual Met Gala will “examine the importance of clothing and style to the formation of Black identities in the Atlantic diaspora. Co-chairs for next year’s event include Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky and Pharrell Williams, with NBA star LeBron James as honorary chair.

A source spoke to National Enquirer about the move at the time.
“Now he finds himself grappling not only with the preservation of his reputation but also with the loss of his standing within an industry that has unequivocally distanced itself from him,” they explained. P Diddy was awarded Menswear Designer of the Year by the Council of Fashion Designers of America in 2004, and was nominated for the same award four years earlier.
Interestingly, the ‘I’ll Be Missing You’ singer started his own clothing brand, Sean John, back in 1998.
