“One of Rodgers’ Best” – Lennon Hails Celtic’s Champions League Display
Neil Lennon hailed Brendan Rodgers’ managerial performance as one of the finest in his career after Celtic secured a 0-0 draw away to Atalanta in Bergamo.
The result not only marked an enjoyable moment for Celtic supporters, but also showed the Hoops’ resilience and determination under pressure, qualities that have often been questioned in recent seasons in Europe.
Lennon said: (TNT Sports), “I think it’s one of the best results in Brendan Rodgers’ career.
“They have proven tonight they can go away from home and dig out a result.”
After facing criticism for Celtic’s 7-1 defeat in Dortmund, Rodgers bounced back with an impressive defensive display in Bergamo, with discipline at the heart of the draw in a vital point away from home in the Champions League.
The Hoops are now on four points from three Games in the Champions League’s new league format.
With back-to-back home matches against RB Leipzig and Club Brugge coming up for Celtic in the Champions League, two wins could leave the Hoops in a prime position to, at the very least, make the play-offs after eight Games played.
Rodgers will take great credit for this evening’s draw, and rightly so.
He showed he learned from the Dortmund defeat, and a draw was a result many would have hoped for, but certainly not banked on.
