American rapper Snoop Dogg has revealed that he wants to invest in Celtic, taking inspiration from Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s work at Wrexham.

The millionaire has never shied away from his adoration of the Bhoys, and he wants to pump money into the club one day.

It remains to be seen whether the fans would be pleased with Snoop’s idea, but he seems rather keen to get involved.

Indeed, how fellow Hollywood stars Reynolds and McElhenney have handled things in Wales with Wrexham has inspired him to look to get involved in Glasgow.

“I love what Ryan [Reynolds] has done with Wrexham – it’s just a great story,” he said (RecordSport).

“Investing in a Sports team has been something I have been looking at for a long time – if the chance came to invest in Celtic, I would be crazy not to take a look at it.”

A Football enthusiast, the world-renowned rapper loves the sport.

He regularly watches matches across Europe, but the Parkhead faithful stand out as the best supporters.

He said: “I have watched so much soccer in Europe but I have never seen fans like the Celtic fans. There is something so special about them.

“There is a reason why their fans are talked about across Europe – the best players and coaches in the world tell you there is nowhere like Celtic Park, and I want to be a part of that.”

Dermot Desmond would likely have something to say about Snoop’s potential investment; the pair’s personalities are polar opposites.

The American, however, does seem to have a genuine interest in the club. He even stated that he wanted to party with Ange Postecoglou and his players when they won the Scottish Premiership title in the 2021/22 season.

Nothing came to fruition, and even if he can’t get involved in the changing rooms, Snoop would be more than willing to take up mascot duties: “Their mascot is a hound – you couldn’t make that up,” he said.

“Snoop Dogg becomes Hoopy the Hound – that’s gotta be a match made in heaven. The headlines write themselves.”

The A-lister has a wealth of cash at his disposal, and his desire to get involved with Celtic is apparent.

It remains to be seen whether anything will truly come to reality, however.
