Norwich Manager Dubs Adam Idah “Important player” After Friendly Cameo
Celtic fans have been on red alert regarding Adam Idah this summer.
The striker joined the Hoops on loan in January and made an immediate impact, rapidly moulding into a talismanic figure who scored some crucial goals.
Brendan Rodgers’ desire to bring the Irishman to Parkhead permanently was clear at the end of last season, but there has been little to no progress made surrounding a deal this summer.
Idah remains a Norwich player and started for the Canaries in their recent pre-season friendly defeat to Club Brugge.
He was subbed off after half an hour in a planned change, with new Norwich boss Johannes Hoff Thorup commenting on his situation post-match.
“From watching his qualities and what he can do, he (Idah) will be an important player for us”, he said (PLZ Soccer).
“I think he showed some signs of what we can get out of him.”
Thorup’s words won’t fill Celtic fans with encouragement. It looks as though he sees Idah as part of his plans for the new season.
There have been contrasting reports about the striker’s future this summer. They will likely continue until deadline day if Idah doesn’t sign for the Bhoys permanently by then.
