The 2024 NFL regular season begins in blockbuster fashion. It’s a Thursday Night Football rematch of last year’s AFC Championship between the Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs. Kansas City went on the road to win that game 17-10 on the way to yet another Super Bowl triumph. The encore should be a good one, as both teams are once again expected to be among the best in the league.

Here is my Same Game Parlay for the festivities, which get underway at 8:20 pm ET on NBC. Also be sure to check out our full Ravens vs Chiefs predictions.

Chiefs -6.5 alternate spread (+172)

Xavier Worthy to record 60+ receiving yards (+158)

Xavier Worthy to score a touchdown (+180)

Parlay odds: +775

Part of the value in a Same Game Parlay, of course, is that all of its components can be correlated if you so choose. That is the entire plan here, as Kansas City wide receiver Xavier Worthy delivering a big performance in his NFL debut would obviously work well with a big win by the Chiefs. Let’s break down each of the 3 legs.

Chiefs -6.5 alternate spread (+172)

Kansas City was also coming off a Super Bowl victory last year and its title defense began with a primetime loss to the Detroit Lions. The Chiefs probably won’t make the season-opening mistake twice. Although L’Jarius Sneed and Willie Gay Jr. are gone from the defense, that side of the ball is deep and full of young talent. Worthy should immediately help the offense. As for the Ravens, they have a lot of holes to fill. Their offensive line took a major hit, losing 3 starters in John Simpson, Kevin Zeitler and Morgan Moses. Linebacker Patrick Queen also departed along with defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald (now the head coach of the Seattle Seahawks). Derrick Henry is in as RB1, but he is 30 years old. Saying that is past a running back’s prime would be an understatement. Even after their 2023 loss to Baltimore, the Chiefs are still 9-2 SU and 7-4 ATS in Week 1 under head coach Andy Reid. Don’t be surprised if the home team wins by at least a touchdown.

Xavier Worthy to record 60+ receiving yards (+158)

Mahomes won’t want to waste any time generating a positive rapport with his newest offensive weapon. After all, Mahomes is going to need him. Wide receiver has been a weak point for Kansas City in recent seasons and it is only a matter of time before Rashee Rice gets suspended. Marquise Brown is already dealing with a shoulder injury and will not play on Thursday night. It’s also worth noting that Baltimore was one of the league’s best at defending tight ends last season, so Kelce may not go completely wild in this one. Worthy, who ran a record-setting 4.21 in the 40-yard dash at the NFL combine, can be expected to make a big impact right away.

Xavier Worthy to score a touchdown (+180)

Worthy was a touchdown machine at Texas, scoring 26 times in 3 seasons. Even if he may not be a prototypical MMArErrorV2Themed SCXW41746835 BCX0">red-zone target with overwhelming size, it’s clear that he has a knack for finding the endzone. Don’t forget that Baltimore led the entire NFL with a mere 6 rushing touchdowns allowed. When opponents get near the goal line, passing is generally the way in which they kick down the door. Look for Worthy to the beneficiary of at least 1 Mahomes scoring strike on Thursday night.
