NFL commissioner Roger Goodell eyes eight international games next season, where will they be played?
The curtain came down on the NFL international series of games on Sunday as the Carolina Panthers faced the NY Giants in Munich.
The 2024 season saw games staged in Brazil (São Paulo), three match-ups were staged in London along with the game in Germany.
Present at the sold-out Allianz Arena was NFL commissioner Roger Goodell who spoke to NFL Game Day host Colleen Wolfe about the success of the initiative.

Goodell was quizzed on future plans for overseas Game as part of the 2025 season with the commissioner stating: “We are definitely going to Spain, we announced that,” with the NFL previously stating that a Game would be held at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, home to LaLiga side Real Madrid.
He added, “we expect to return to Mexico City and we expect to return to Brazil. We will certainly be back in the U.K. And we’re also looking at the potential of another Game in the U.K. area - in Dublin (Ireland), possibly,” he said.
“That’s a possibility. And we’ll certainly be back here in Germany. So if that total is eight, that’s what we’re shooting for.”
Goodell previously mentioned said the NFL is working to hold a game in German capital Berlin with the game earmarked for the 80,000 Olympic Stadium which hosted the final of Euro 2024 earlier this year.
Despite its approach to raising the NFL profile around the world, the league last month said it has no near-term plans to hold its biggest annual event, the Super Bowl, outside the U.S.
