How does Owning Manhattan match up to the Selling Universe on Netflix?

When it comes to real estate reality TV, the Oppenheim brothers and their Selling series have set the gold standard. Jason and Brett Oppenheim, along with their team of ultra-glamorous, drama-loving realtors, have kept audiences hooked with their high-profile listings and personal dramas. In today’s attention economy, shows like Selling Sunset, Selling The OC, and Buying Beverly Hills have become a cultural phenomenon, birthing a new genre of television that mixes luxury, intrigue, and high-stakes real estate.
Owning Manhattan aims to carve out its niche in this comPetitive landscape. While the Oppenheim brothers and their team are known for their West Coast dominance, Serhant and his crew bring the East Coast hustle and grit to the screen. The show promises to deliver the same level of glamour and drama but with a distinctly New York flavour. Get ready for skyscrapers, sky-high prices, and even higher stakes.
“The show completely redefines the genre for real estate TV. If you like Selling Sunset, Succession, and Vanderpump Rules, you will like this show,” Serhant, also the producer, told The Post in a statement. “We spent two years making it, capturing all the ups and downs of a growing company, and filming in some of the most jaw-dropping real estate in the world. I’m excited — and terrified — to finally release this show to such a big, global audience with Netflix.”
Fans can definitely expect plenty of jaw-dropping moments, whether it’s the unveiling of multi-million dollar listings or the intense rivalries among the agents. Serhant’s personal life also adds an interesting dimension to the show, as he balances his role as a CEO with family life.
