Gerrit Cole has been announced as the starting pitcher and he will make his second appearance in this series. He was the Game 1 starter and got roughed up by the Royals for 3 runs, 7 hits, and 2 walks in 5 innings. Cole will get his shot at revenge tonight, but I’m not expecting him to have a long leash. The Royals have hit Cole hard in their careers as Maikel Garcia, Tommy Pham, Bobby Witt Jr., Salvador Perez and MJ Melendez are a combined 25-for-78 (.321) against the Yankees ace.

He only made it 5 innings in Game 1 and it’s clear that Aaron Boone is going to go to his relievers at the first sign of trouble.
