The Nittany Lions won their first seven Games out of the gate, taking out West Virginia, Bowling Green, Kent State, Illinois, UCLA, USC and Wisconsin in that time. Following a loss to Ohio State, Penn State would recover with a win over Washington.

On Saturday versus Purdue, the Lions didn’t have too many issues. Penn State scored 14 points in the first quarter and 21 in the third for a 49-10 win. Drew Allar threw for 247 yards and three scores, while Tyler Warren led both the rush (63 yards; TD) and the receivers (127 yards; TD).

Minnesota Golden Gophers Betting Preview

Over on the Gophers’ side, they went 2-2 over their first four outings with losses to North Carolina and Iowa. Following another loss to Michigan, Minnesota took out USC, UCLA, Maryland and Illinois before another loss to Rutgers.

Matched up against the Scarlet Knights on November 9, the Gophers had a 16-14 lead going into the final quarter but ended up falling 26-19. QB Max Brosmer posted 262 yards with one TD, and Darius Taylor led an anemic rush with 10 carries for 28 yards and a score of his own.

I’ll just stay with Penn State. The Lions dominated Purdue in their last outing, notching 539 yards (305 passing), 23 first downs and a nice 9-of-14 on third downs. The defense gave up 302 yards (217 passing), 16 first downs and 5-of-14 on third downs on the other side. Penn State has outscored opponents by a combined 84-16 in their last two Games.

As for Minnesota, they snapped a nice win streak against Rutgers in their last outing but didn’t play horribly for most of the Game. The Gophers posted 297 yards (35 rushing) and went 7-of-16 on third-down tries but let the Game go in the fourth. This will be an even tougher matchup, and I don’t see the Gophers staying too close.
