The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Milwaukee Brewers meet Wednesday in MLB action from American Family Field. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this Game. Here’s a Milwaukee Brewers vs LA Dodgers Prediction.
Starting Pitching Matchup
The Los Angeles Dodgers did not have a starting pitcher announced at the time that this article was posted. Frankie Montas is slated to get the start for the Brewers here and is 5-8 with a 5.10 ERA and 90 strikeouts this season. In his career, Montas is 0-2 with an 11.57 ERA and 8 strikeouts against the Dodgers.
Los Angeles Dodgers Recap
The Los Angeles Dodgers come into this one looking to win the series after pushing their win streak to five after a 7-2 win in Tuesday’s matchup. The win earned the Dodgers a series split at minimum, and that follows up their series sweep of the Pittsburgh Pirates this past weekend.
Dodgers Trying To Pull Away In NL West Chase
Shohei Ohtani has 137 hits including a team-high 37 home runs, 29 doubles and 86 RBIs with a .297 batting average while Mookie Betts has 90 hits with 16 doubles, 3 triples, 11 homers and 43 RBIs of his own. Teoscar Hernandez also has 26 home runs with 79 RBIs and a team-high 139 strikeouts. Betts also has 10 stolen bases while Ohtani has a team-high 33 stolen bases. Freddie Freeman also has 17 home runs and 71 RBIs with 29 doubles and Will Smith has added 21 doubles, 16 home runs and 62 RBIs.
Why the Los Angeles Dodgers will win
- The Brewers have lost each of their last nine night games against NL West opponents that held a winning record.
- The favorites have won each of the Dodgers’ last 10 games at American Family Field.
- The Brewers have failed to cover the run line in each of their last eight night games against NL West opponents following a loss.
- The favorites have covered the run line in each of the Dodgers’ last six games at American Family Field.
Milwaukee Brewers Recap
The Milwaukee Brewers will be out to bounce back after falling flat to start the series thanks to their loss in Tuesday’s matchup. The Brewers will be out to at least earn a split to try to keep a series unbeaten streak going after series wins over the Reds and Braves over the last week.
Brewers Looking To Inch Closer To NL Central Title
William Contreras leads the Brewers with 131 hits including 32 doubles and 69 RBIs along with 15 home runs and a .358 OBP while Rhys Hoskins has 20 home runs with 59 RBIs and Willy Adames has 27 doubles with 21 home runs and 80 RBIs. Brice Turang leads the Brewers with 33 stolen bases while Adames has a team-high 126 strikeouts as well this season. Christian Yelich also has 11 home runs, 42 RBIs, 3 triples and 21 stolen bases while Jackson Chourio’s added 14 homers and 50 RBIs.
Why the Milwaukee Brewers will win
- The Dodgers have lost each of their last nine Wednesday night games against National League opponents.
- The Brewers have won seven of their last 10 games as underdogs.
- The Dodgers have failed to cover the run line in 13 of their last 14 Wednesday night road games against NL Central opponents.
- The Brewers have covered the run line in each of their last five Wednesday night games as home underdogs against NL West opponents.
Milwaukee Brewers vs LA Dodgers Prediction
I’m leaning towards the Dodgers here. It would be nice to know who L.A. is starting here, but we haven’t seen anything from the Brewers so far in this series to suggest they’re going to be able to comPete, especially now that Mookie Betts has returned, and Frankie Montas was a bit of a head-scratching acquisition in my opinion when the Brewers picked him up and I think he is going to be a liability more than an asset here as well. I’ll side with the Dodgers in this one.
