Mel B says Spice Girls are ‘supporting’ Geri Halliwell during Christian Horner scandal
Mel B revealed the Spice Girls are rallying around Geri Halliwell in the wake of her husband’s scandal.
The “Wannabe” singer, born Melanie Brown, said she felt “really sad” for her former bandmate after Christian Horner was investigated for alleged inappropriate behavior toward a female employee at Red Bull Racing.
“That’s the thing when you’re going through something like that, you really do need your friends and family,” Brown said during an appearance on “Good Morning Britain” Tuesday.
“We’re all very supportive and I feel really sad for her right now,” she added, referencing their fellow “Stop” hitmakers, EMMA Bunton, Melanie Chisholm and Victoria Beckham.
Brown, 48, previously said the women were “so supportive of each other” that they would “literally take a bullet” for the others.
“Between the four of us, we’ve all been messaging her; I sent a message to her earlier,” the songstress, dubbed Scary Spice, told The Mirror last week.
“All you can do is be there, just like the girls have been there for me; all I can do is be there for Geri,” she went on.
“But it is horrible to see your friend going through something [because] that’s your friend and you want to protect her, no matter what.
“What us five have been through in the 30 years we’ve known each other, that’s a solid bond.”
Halliwell’s marriage has been in the spotlight after Horner, 50, was investigated — and cleared of any misconduct — following a complaint from a female staffer earlier this month.
However, the Formula 1 team principal couldn’t escape the court of public opinion when an explosive email containing private WhatsApp messages purporting to be between Horner and his accuser were sent to almost 200 F1 executives and reporters.
He and Halliwell, 51, have since put on a united front, posing together at the F1 season opener in Bahrain. He also publicly thanked her for her support during the “very trying period.”
“I’m very fortunate that I have a beautiful family and a very supportive wife. And I’m the only one who has been named in this,” Horner said during a press conference ahead of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in Jeddah last week.

“My wife has been phenomenally supportive through this, as has my family, but the intrusion on my family is now enough, and we need to move forward and focus on what we are here for,” he added.
“It is time now to focus on why we are here, which is to go Formula 1 racing.”
The couple said “I do” in 2015 and share a 7-year-old son, Monty.
They’re also parents to daughter Bluebell, 17, from Halliwell’s relationship with Sacha Gervasi and daughter Olivia, 10, from the long-tenured team boss’ first marriage to Beverley Allen.
