The Los Angeles Angels and the Seattle Mariners will meet in Anaheim for Game three of their divisional series this Saturday from Angel Stadium. Seattle stole another one from Los Angeles late last night to win by two, 9-7.

Mariners Preview & Projected Starter

Seattle moved to 58-52 after defeating Los Angeles. The Mariners came through big in clutch time last night, and they’ll look to create more space between themselves and the Halos here in Game two. The Seattle offense is 3.87 scoring runs per Game, while batting .234, with a .313 on-base percentageThe pitching staff carries a 3.55 ERA, with a 1.19 WHIP.

George Kirby (9-8, 3.43 ERA, 119 Ks) will start for Seattle. The second-year pitcher bounced back with a solid outing at home against Boston last week, striking out seven in five innings en route to a Mariners victory. Kirby’s looked good in two of four post-All Star break starts, but he’s looked poor in the other two, and he’ll look to buck that trend Saturday. Kirby faced the Angels in MLB debut, and after naturally struggling a bit (4.1 IP, 4 ER, L), he’ll look to avenge that outing here.

Mariners Player Trends & Props

Julio Rodriguez doubled and homered in the game two victory, and he leads Seattle in hits (112) and home runs (18), with 60 RBI.

Eugenio Suarez set a franchise record with a RBI in ten straight games last night, and he leads the Mariners with 71 total, while hitting sixteen homers.

J.P. Crawford has collected multiple hits in both matchups with LAA, and he leads the team in batting at .266, with 36 RBI.

Teoscar Hernandez recorded three hits in Friday’s win, and he’s second on the team in home runs (16) and runs batted in (59).

Cal Raleigh went yard last night to remain tied with JRod for the team-lead in homers (18), with 46 RBI.

Angels Preview & Projected Starter

Los Angeles moved to 56-56 after losing to Seattle. The Angels had another contest slip from beneath them, and they’ll attempt to avoid a fifth straight loss Saturday. The LAA offense is scoring 4.16 runs per Game, while batting .257, with a .333 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 4.43 ERA, with a 1.36 WHIP.

Tyler Anderson (5-2, 4.98 ERA, 80 Ks) will take the mound for Los Angeles. The eighth-year lefty felt the trade deadline pressure and turned out his best outing of the season in Toronto last week, holding them to one run through 6.1 innings en route to a Halos win. Anderson raised some eyebrows containing the Jays in Canada, but he’s been prone to allowing runs this season, and it remains to be seen if he can slow down a surging Seattle team here.

Angels Player Trends & Props

Shohei Ohtani has recorded a hit in nine straight games, and he’s first in the AL in home runs (40), while leading LAA in hits (126) and RBI (82), while batting .310.

Hunter Renfroe had multiple hits in last night’s defeat, and he’s posting splits of .251/17/49.

Mickey Moniak went yard in Friday’s contest, and he leads the Halos in batting (.311), with twelve homers and 37 RBI.

Mike Moustakas homered and plated three runs in the game two loss, and he’s posting splits of .270/10/34.

CJ Cron has recorded a hit in each of his first five Games with the Angels, while Randal Grichuk has reached base in four of his first five.

Corey’s Free Pick

Seattle is leaving their mark in Anaheim, and it feels like they are visually separating themselves in the division and wildcard race. The Mariners are playing at a high level right now, and it’s hard to see Tyler Anderson slowing them down here. George Kirby has been hit or miss himself, and with the way these bats are swinging on both sides, I like targeting the total for this contest. The Over has cleared in the first two matchups, so let’s test these lineups and roll with it here in game three.
