Interesting Friday Night Adam Idah Update
Adam Idah has been pulled from the Norwich squad for tonight’s pre-season clash with German outfit Magdeburg sparking the usual transfer window speculation around Celtic supporters online.
The Canaries are set to return to the pitch at Carrow Road following a week-long training stint in Belgium. Celtic target Idah featured prominently in both friendlies against Club Brugge and Standard Liege but has surprisingly been left out of this evening’s squad after being filmed in training two days ago scoring an overhead kick.
Word from Norwich suggests the Republic of Ireland international is sidelined with a minor knock [Samuel Seaman]. However, this does little to quell the swirling rumours that he might finally be on his way to Parkhead.
Celtic have already seen a £4.5 million bid for Adam turned down but remain keen on a deal for the striker. Brendan Rodgers has made his intentions clear. The Hoops’ hierarchy is equally resolute in their efforts to secure Idah’s return to Glasgow although they’re not going fast enough.
With the new SPFL season kicking off next weekend and a final pre-season friendly against Chelsea looming, the pressing question remains: Can Celtic seal the deal and bring Idah back before then?
