Man arrested for trying to break into Drake’s $100M Toronto home 1 day after security guard shooting
He got enemies, got a lot of enemies.
A man was arrested after trying to break into Drake’s $100 million Toronto mansion one day after his security guard was shot in a drive-by shooting.
The Toronto Police confirmed the incident to Page Six in a statement Wednesday, telling us, “Officers were called after a person attempted to gain access to the property. The person was apprehended under the Mental Health Act.”
Per Global News, at least four police cruisers rushed to the scene around 2:20 p.m. local time after an initial call.
A source claimed to the news outlet that “a man reportedly broke in” after establishing that he was “here to see Drake.” After “security fought him,” they called the police.
The unidentified man was also reportedly trying to access the “Hotline Bling” rapper’s home “at the gates.”
Page Six has reached out to a rep for Drake, 37, but did not immediately hear back.
The attempted break-in comes one day after the rapper’s 48-year-old security guard was struck multiple times in a drive-by shooting outside the mansion, which sits on Park Lane Circle in the ritzy Bridle Path neighborhood.
After his injuries were deemed non-life-threatening, he was transported to Sunnybrook Hospital, where he was taken into surgery.
Following the shooting, Toronto Police Inspector Paul Krawczyk of the Integrated Gun and Gang Task Force noted that it is still too early in the investigation to determine a motive for the incident — but that they are aware of Drake’s highly publicized beef with Kendrick Lamar, 36.
Lamar and Drake — born Aubrey Graham — have released diss songs toward each other over the past few weeks.
In the “One Dance” emcee’s diss track “Family Matters,” he accused Lamar of physically abusing his longtime fiancée, Whitney Alford, and of being a “fake” activist.
On the Compton rapper’s diss track “Meet the Grahams,” he accused Drake of hiding a secret daughter, a claim the latter has denied.
Lamar also accused Drake and his OVO associates of being pedophiles in his diss song “Not Like Us,” warning women to “hide your little sisters.”
The “Degrassi” alum then denied liking underage girls in his latest diss song, “The Heart Part 6.”
“Just for clarity, I feel disgusted, I’m too respected / If I was f–king young girls, I promise I’d have been arrested / I’m way too famous for this s–t you just suggested,” he rapped.
