Kristen Doute Pregnant With Baby No. 1 at 41: ‘Pump Rules’ Alum Expecting Child With Luke Broderick

Kristen Doute is pregnant! Nearly one year after the Vanderpump Rules alum revealed she had a miscarriage, she shared the exciting news that she’s expecting baby No. 1 with fiancé Luke Broderick.

“We decided to start trying in early 2024,” Kristen, 41, told People. “I knew my age could be a factor in conceiving, so Luke and I discussed going for an extra push, a little help.”

The couple turned to a fertility specialist in “late summer” to find out their options. Kristen soon began preparing her body for intrauterine insemination (IUI). After having the procedure, Kristen said she and Luke had to wait two weeks to find out if she was pregnant. “I tested one day early and got the big PREGNANT result staring back at me,” she gushed.

Of her reaction to the news, the Valley star added, “I was relieved, overwhelmed, happy, excited and nervous. The second I told Luke, he wasn’t surprised, but was SO happy that IUI worked the first time (we were prepared that it may not). He was so joyful and beyond excited to say the least! Our due date is in June [2025] and we are really looking forward to expanding our little family and becoming parents.”

Kristen and Luke got engaged in September while filming season 2 of The Valley in Hawaii. However, they said that they were prioritizing having a baby over getting married.

The pair met while attending a wedding in June 2022. Kristen served as a bridesmaid, while Luke was a groomsman. The meeting took place just weeks after Kristen went through a breakup. “I thought, ‘He’s sweet, he’s kind, he’s funny,’” she said on an episode of The Valley. “Then we had sex behind a tent and the rest is History.”

Kristen officially confirmed the relationship in December 2022. Despite Luke living in Colorado and Kristen residing in California, they were able to make it work. While Luke now spends most of his time in California to film The Valley with Kristen, the duo revealed in March that the plan isn’t to stay in Los Angeles forever.

“Here is the deal – we discussed this prior to us dating [and] making it official, that if we make it a thing, I have to agree to be on camera,” Luke told Entertainment Tonight. “So I am following through with my side of the deal.” Kristen then jumped in to add, “And my side of the deal is when we become parents, when the baby or child is of school age, we no longer live in proper L.A.”

In October 2023, Kristen and Luke revealed that they were talking about having a baby and even met with Kristen’s doctor to get more information about her getting pregnant at 40 years old.

The following month, Kristen broke down in tears as she shared that she had a miscarriage. “The only silver lining – [after] the fact that we’ve now been digesting this for the last four or five days – is that I know once Luke and I are past this, we can try again,” Kristen shared. “And we are very lucky and very fortunate that we got pregnant so quickly. We were so, so lucky because it could have gone a different way for me at my age.”
