The Alvarez deal is not the only one that involves Atletico Madrid, as the Colchoneros are also ready to welcome Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher as new signing in the coming days, while Chelsea are in talks to sign striker Samu Omorodion from the same Atletico Madrid, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.
Julian Alvarez will be the most expensive outgoing in the History of Manchester City, after the Citizens paid around $22 million to sign him from River Plate in January 2022. Over the past two years at the club, Alvarez scored some key goals for a total of 36 goals in 103 Games played in all comPetitions, won two Premier League titles, one FA Cup, one UEFA Champions League, one UEFA Supercup and one FIFA Club World Cup.
The Argentinian striker, who also won two Copa America titles and one World Cup with Argentina, wanted more playing time, as at City he had to play in the same attacking position of Norwegian star Erling Haaland, and this is why he was looking for other options this summer. Atletico Madrid immediately emerged as one of the clubs most interested to sign him, and that dream is now reality.
