She eventually released the fish, but not before taking some photos that she shared with a work colleague who posted them on social media.
One woman certainly got the catch of the day when she caught a two-month-old fish from a lake in upstate New York.
Debbie Geddes, (pictured in red), was fishing with her husband on Lake Champlai last week and received the impressive haul
Geddes told Fox News: “When this particular fish bit, I felt like I had a frozen fish,” he explained. In fact, I commented, “I hope it’s as big as it feels!” When we got it on the boat, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing! Two months! And yet this fish was Healthy and thriving! Pretty incredible!
“We quickly took some photos and released the fish,” she replied. An image was eventually uploaded to Facebook by Geddes’ co-worker, Adam Facteau. He claimed that he is more excited about the discovery than Geddes.
He revealed: ‘She was not aware that a young man would care about capture. She knew it would be popular. The image was shared on the Kotty Boys fishig page, and has been shared more than 5,000 times since Wednesday after this.
Nearly 1,000 people have left comments, with some speculation about whether the fish’s main feature is normal or whether it could have been caused by a jury or some kind of survey.
It is not clear whether the fact that the fish was two months old was a general characteristic or whether it was the result of a trial or a survey.
Debbie Geddes shared an image of the fish with her colleague Adam Facteau, (centre) and then posted it on Facebook, with the image going viral.
Factea told Fox: ‘Well, I think everyone has an opinion, which makes it interesting to discuss.’
Asked if it could be due to the survey, he added: ‘Right, that’s possible. However, Lake Champlai is also known to be a dumping ground for wastewater from Canada and Vermont. Please, many of these fish are in stock.’Could be? I’m not sure. Anyway, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime catch and has a lot of public opinions.
Geddes also said she was overwhelmed by the level of attention the image received and was amused by the interest.
She added: ‘I just can’t believe all the attention it has received. The audience responses/theories are quite interesting, to say the least.
‘I personally think it was caused by a previous judge, most likely another fisherman.’
