In-game betting on NBA League pass: How does it work, and in which states is it available?
The NBA has recently partnered with Sportradar to introduce enhanced betting features, making it easier for fans to place live bets on games. Through this partnership, Sportradar has integrated cutting-edge betting functionalities directly into the NBA League Pass streaming service, enhancing the overall fan experience.
The new features include the integration of emBET, Sportradar’s over-the-top (OTT) solution, which will provide enhanced betting-related functionality within NBA League Pass. Sports betting content such as point spreads, over-under and money lines will be seamlessly integrated and available to fans through the NBA’s live streaming platform, allowing them to enjoy the in-play betting experience.
By providing sports betting content within the NBA League Pass streaming service, Sportradar’s innovative technology will allow fans to access real-time data and analysis, providing them with a more immersive and engaging betting experience. This is a major development for the NBA, enabling them to tap into the growing sports betting market and offer fans a more comprehensive way of enjoying their favorite sport.
Sportradar has been the exclusive worldwide distributor of NBA data since partnering with the NBA in 2016.
How does it work?
With emBET, users can conveniently view and select bets directly on NBA League Pass. When they are ready to place a bet, they will be directed to FanDuel or DraftKings, the NBA’s official betting partners, through an embedded link. emBET is committed to enhancing user engagement and retention by providing advanced team and player insights, polls, voting, and trivia Games. And thanks to Sportradar’s exclusive access to NBA’s optical-tracking data, emBET will deliver more dynamic and innovative features in the future.
The Athletic reported the betting option will be only available on mobile, but there are plans to bring it to other devices through an opt-in function.
In which states will emBET be available?
It has become easier to list the states where Sports betting is illegal, as the majority of states in the US have legalized it. Currently, Sports betting in any form is prohibited in California, Texas, Idaho, Utah, Minnesota, Missouri, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, Oklahoma, Alaska, and Hawaii.
Although legislative efforts have been made in states such as California, Texas, and Georgia, they have fallen short. California and Texas, which account for almost 21% of the US population, are large potential markets for the online betting industry. New York has the largest legal sports betting market in terms of population.
